Big Friday - big swell, waves breaking on reef to left, on sand bars in bay, and in big sections in the bowl of the bay. Not too difficult to get out by keeping left and could then pick up the swell to come back in. Strong rip and some stones plus a shorebreak made the launch awkward as tide dropped, but the waves mellowed a bit as well and this made it more approachable for me. Last run in and lost the wave, caught up by a monster with no wind, but stayed out of straps and had enough speed to stay in front as it jacked up and crashed down - wow.
